Now on the next day, which was the day after the Preparation Day, the chief priests and the Pharisees were gathered together to Pilate, saying, “Sir, we remember what that deceiver said while he was still alive: ‘After three days I will rise again.’ (Mt 27:62-63)
Command therefore that the tomb be made secure until the third day, lest perhaps his disciples come at night and steal him away, and tell the people, ‘He is risen from the dead;’ and the last deception will be worse than the first.” (Mt 27:64)
Pilate said to them, “You have a guard. Go, make it as secure as you can.” 66 So they went with the guard and made the tomb secure, sealing the stone. (Mt 27:65-66)

The cords of death surrounded me. The floods of ungodliness made me afraid. 5 The cords of Sheol were around me. The snares of death came on me. (Ps 18:4-5) I was caught by the cords of death; the snares of Sheol had seized me; I felt agony and dread. (Ps 116:3)
You have put me in the depths of the Pit, in the regions dark and deep. Your wrath lies heavy upon me, and you overwhelm me with all your waves. (Ps. 88:6-7)

For it is not Sheol that gives you thanks, nor death that praises you; Neither do those who go down into the pit await your kindness. (Is 38:18)

Your mercy to me is great; you have rescued me from the depths of Sheol. (Ps 86:13)
Turn, O LORD, save my life; deliver me for the sake of your steadfast love. For in death there is no remembrance of you; in Sheol who can give you praise? (Ps. 6:4-5)
