Month of the Holy Rosary (Oct 28-30)
October 28, 2025
Third Mystery: Ascension (Oct 28)
After his suffering Jesus presented himself alive to them by many convincing proofs, appearing to them during forty days and speaking about the kingdom of God. (Acts 1:3)
While staying with them, he ordered them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait there for the promise of the Father. (Acts 1:4)
So when they had come together, they asked him, “Lord, is this the time when you will restore the kingdom to Israel?” He replied, “It is not for you to know the times or periods that the Father has set by his own authority. (Acts 1:6-7)
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)
When he had said this, as they were watching, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight. (Acts 1:9)
While he was going and they were gazing up toward heaven, suddenly two men in white robes stood by them. (Acts 1:10)
They said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking up toward heaven? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.” (Acts 1:11)
Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a sabbath day’s journey away. (Acts 1:12)
No one has ascended into heaven except the one who descended from heaven, the Son of Man. And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in him may have eternal life. (John 3:13-15)
Therefore it is said, “When he ascended on high he made captivity itself a captive; he gave gifts to his people.” (Eph. 4:8)
Lord our God,
as the Blessed Virgin was at prayer with the Apostles
you poured out on her in abundamce
the gifts of the Holy Spirit;
grant through her intercession
that we too, being filled with the same Spirit,
may persevere with one mind in prayer
and bring to the world around us
the Good News of salvation.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
(Masses of the Blessed Virgin Mary; Our Lady of the Cenacle)
Fourth Mystery: Return (Oct 29)
Look! He is coming with the clouds; every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and on his account all the tribes of the earth will wail. So it is to be. Amen. (Rev. 1:7)
Then I looked, and there was a white cloud, and seated on the cloud was one like the Son of Man, with a golden crown on his head, and a sharp sickle in his hand! (Rev. 14:14)
So the one who sat on the cloud swung his sickle over the earth, and the earth was reaped. (Rev. 14:16)
“See, I am coming like a thief! Blessed is the one who stays awake and is clothed, not going about naked and exposed to shame.” (Rev. 16:15)
And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Also another book was opened, the book of life. And the dead were judged according to their works, as recorded in the books. (Rev. 20:12)
“See, I am coming soon; my reward is with me, to repay according to everyone’s work. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.” (Rev. 22:12-13)
The Lord is not slow about his promise, as some think of slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting any to perish, but all to come to repentance. (2 Pet. 3:9)
But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a loud noise, and the elements will be dissolved with fire, and the earth and everything that is done on it will be disclosed. (2 Pet. 3:10)
Since all these things are to be dissolved in this way, what sort of persons ought you to be in leading lives of holiness and godliness, waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God…? (2 Pet. 3:11)
But, in accordance with his promise, we wait for new heavens and a new earth, where righteousness is at home. Therefore, beloved, while you are waiting for these things, strive to be found by him at peace, without spot or blemish; and regard the patience of our Lord as salvation. (2 Pet. 3:13-15)
Lord our God, you give us the joy
of honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary
as Mother of divine hope.
In your mercy
grant that, through her prayers and help,
we may always live as good citizens of this world,
with our hears fixed on the world to come,
and so receive what we look forward to in faith,
the fulfillment of all our hope.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
(Masses of the Blessed Virgin Mary; Mary, Mother of Divine Hope A)
Fifth Mystery: Consummation (Oct 30)
Christ himself is before all things, and in him all things hold together. (Col. 1:18)
For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell. (Col. 1:19)
And through him God was pleased to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, by making peace through the blood of his cross. (Col 1:20)
God put this power to work in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the age to come. (Eph. 1:20-21)
For our struggle is not against enemies of blood and flesh, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. (Eph. 6:12)
When I saw [the one like the Son of Man], I fell at his feet as though dead. But he placed his right hand on me, saying, ‘Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last, and the living one. I was dead, and see, I am alive for ever and ever; and I have the keys of Death and of Hades. (Rev. 1:17-18)
Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, singing, ‘To the one seated on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honour and glory and might for ever and ever!’ (Rev. 5:13)
After this I looked, and there was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, robed in white, with palm branches in their hands. They cried out in a loud voice, saying, ‘Salvation belongs to our God who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb!’ (Rev. 7:9)
Look! He is coming with the clouds; every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and on his account all the tribes of the earth will wail. So it is to be. Amen. (Rev. 1:7)
‘See, I am coming soon; my reward is with me, to repay according to everyone’s work. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.’ (Rev. 22:12)
Lord our God, in your goodness
you have made your Son
the gateway to salvation and life;
grant that, as we follow the example
of the Blessed Virgin Mary,
we may remain faithful in the love of Christ
and so pass safely through the gate
of your city in heaven.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
(Masses of the Blessed Virgin Mary; Mary, Gate of Heaven)
